Rent or buy your takchita: how to choose.
A wedding, an engagement, a henna night: the question comes up every time. Should you rent a takchita for the evening, or buy one to keep? Both make sense — it depends on how often you will wear it, your budget and how personal you want the piece to be.

When renting is the right choice
- You need a spectacular piece for one evening.
- You want to wear several outfits during the same celebration.
- You are travelling to Morocco for a wedding and would rather not carry heavy outfits.
- You like to change style from one celebration to the next.
When buying is the better choice
- You will wear the piece several times — for Eid, family weddings and celebrations.
- You want a piece made to your exact measurements and taste.
- The outfit has sentimental value: a gift, or a piece to pass on.
- You live far from a boutique that rents traditional outfits.
Questions to ask yourself before deciding
- How many times will I wear it in the next two years?
- Do I want a piece in my own colours, or am I happy to choose from a collection?
- How much time do I have before the event? Made to measure takes longer than renting.
- Will I need the belt and the jewellery as well?
How it works at Maison Samiha
Most of our caftans and all our takchitas can be rented: you choose your piece during a fitting in our Marrakech boutique, and we adjust it to you for the day. You can also buy a piece from the collection, or have one made to measure — in the boutique or from abroad, with delivery across Europe.

Frequently asked questions
Is it cheaper to rent or to buy a takchita?
For a single event, renting usually costs much less than buying. If you will wear the piece several times, buying can become the better value.
Can I rent a takchita if I live abroad?
Yes. Reserve it before your trip and try it on when you arrive in Marrakech; we keep the piece for your date.
Can a rented takchita be adjusted to me?
Yes. We adjust the piece to you during the fitting so that it fits well on the day.
Do you rent menswear too?
Our ceremonial selham is available to rent; the other men's pieces are for sale or made to measure.
